How to make your own Diaper Rash Cream: Home Remedy

Those of you who know me, know I'm obsessed with my Young Living's Lavender oil. I literally use this oil on everything!

I used to shop for what I thought were the best products for my baby. Labels can be very misleading. Even labels that say the product is All Natural or Organic. I was told by someone awhile back that if you ever see an ingredient on the back label that you’re not familiar with, most likely it isn't good for you. This goes for what you eat as well. This is why I avoid processed foods. I have been doing tons of research on ingredients that are commonly used in baby products today. I learned that a lot of them are filled with alcohols, fragrances, and other terrible things. All of which are toxic!!! Some baby products even carry salycic acid!!!! Crazy!!! I come to realize that a majority of products out there are not good for my baby. There are only a few products that I feel comfortable using; however, they are usually very costly. So I decided to approach things differently and make my own!!! Not only am I saving TONS of money, I know what's going on my baby's skin. And the best part??? It's all edible!!!! I never have to worry if my son ingests it by accident. *I do not recommend any other brand of oil as I don't guarantee it is safe to injest.*

Lavender is very soothing and healing and has natural anti-inflammatory properties. This is why I like to use this oil a lot when it comes to making my own products. I use a lot of other oils as well that offer amazing health benefits. I have really grown to love oils and the benefits it has had in my life. There is only one kind of oil I can trust and that’s Young Living. I know where they come from and what they are made from and that makes me feel very secure and safe. Young Living oils are made from natural plants derived from the Earth.

Ahhh and did you know coconut oil contains lauric acid (a property also found in a mother’s breast milk) and has antimicrobial and anti-fungal properties? Isn't this amazing!!! Coconut oil is highly recommended to be used for babies when they have skin issues.

And did you ever think to use lavender oil or coconut oil on diaper rash?

I'm so excited to share this recipe. One of which I love and I use myself :)

Supplies:

1/2 cup unrefined coconut oil

30 drops of Young Living's Vitality Lavender Essential Oil (want to purchase them at wholesale price? Email me for more information at ewagner@toietmoico.com)

4 oz glass sealed tight jar. (You can recycle a jar of jam like I did or you can use 4 oz Kerr jars.)

Gather up the coconut oil and the lavender oil, 1/2 cup measuring cup, a spoon for stirring and a glass container to store diaper rash cream in.

- Measure out the 1/2 cup of coconut oil.

- Add in your 30 drops of lavender oil.

- Stir well.

- Pour it into a small, clean jar with a tight lid.

Diaper rashes come and go and they are one of the most excruciatingly painful things that happen so quickly. Change of diet, teething, medicine, illness and allergies are just a few of the reasons many babies get diaper rashes.

Within one diaper change, you will notice that the redness, the pain and the inflammation is gone.

This is super easy to make and you only need two ingredients. Takes all of two minutes to make.

P.S......This is good for you too (Yes you...Mom!! ) This is just as amazing for their skin as it is for yours. I always keep the leftovers of the batch for me :)
